Volunteer at the Deschutes Street Pub on July 14

Don’t make me beg.

We still need a few great, beer-loving, friendly volunteers for the Deschutes Street Pub on July 14. This is a great opportunity to come out and see your friends and neighbors while helping support nonprofits in our community. I’ll be pouring beer and hope that you’ll join me in one of many roles throughout the day.

This is an event that means a lot to me because the Roanoke Outside Foundation is one of four beneficiaries of the event. (The Street Pub has raised $148,500 for nonprofits in Roanoke.) This year the featured nonprofits are Roanoke Outside Foundation, Bradley Free Clinic, The Spot on Kirk, and Roanoke Parks and Recreation.

The Street Pub is free and is a giant, family-friendly one-stop shop for beer tastings. Deschutes Brewery will have more than 50 taps with plenty of brews to taste, including favorites and special taps. The first kegs will be tapped at 2 p.m. and last call happens at 10 p.m.

But none of it can happen without your help. The Street Pub relies on the support of volunteers to keep costs down so that more money can be donated to nonprofits. One of the most fun jobs might just be pouring beer; volunteers always say it’s a great experience.
