Roanoke Bikeshare Expands

The Zagster bikeshare program is growing by leaps and bounds and three new stations will open next month.

The new stations include 15 more bikes to check out and ride around the region.

  • Crystal Spring Village center in South Roanoke.
  • The Riverside campus of Carilion Clinic and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (sponsored by Hometown Bank).
  • Soaring Ridge Craft Brewers, 5th Street and Shenandoah in Downtown Roanoke (sponsored by Soaring Ridge).

With almost 1,500 members and over 3,700 trips, bikeshare is exceeding expectations.

RIDE Solutions officially launched bikesharing in Roanoke in June, with stations all across Roanoke. You can ride as long as you want, and return the bike to a same or different station. You can even stop and during a ride, using the included bike lock. (Bikes also have baskets to carry items, but you should bring your own helmet.)
