Not a Cyclist? GO Cross Includes a Running Option

runcross roanoke

We totally get it. Not everyone is ready to tackle the rigor of a full cyclocross course. (Good thing there will be tons of pros coming to GO Cross so you can see how it’s done.)

But you can still set foot on Virginia’s Blue Ridge GO Cross Presented by Deschutes Brewery course. It’s so cool that you’ll want to – we promise.

RunCross will precede the main event on Saturday, Sept. 1. Runners will take as many laps around the cyclocross course as they can – obstacles and all – in one hour.

The course is roughly 1.5 miles with a grass course, short barriers, tight turns, a sand pit, and even the famous Avis Construction GO Cross flyover.

RUNNERS REGISTER HERE

The course falls somewhere between a trail race and obstacle race. There’s no real way to train for it, so grab your shoes, sense of adventure and register for RunCross.

The runners who finished the race last year earned serious bragging rights. Most of them are still talking about it heading into the race this year.

Then, stick around for the afternoon of events. (You’ll really appreciate the gnarly course after you’ve run it.) Watch the pros compete for $10,000 in prizes, play games, heckle, grab a beer at the Deschutes Brewery beer garden and just spend the day enjoying outdoor sports with others.
