Mountain Bike Trail Opens at Waid Park

UPDATE: Due to anticipated inclement weather the grand opening has been changed to June 1 (10am).

Experience the Old Buzzard, a new mountain bike trail, at Waid Park in Franklin County.

The trail incorporates elements of flow and freeride features into a one-of-a-kind progressive experience unique to our region. All features are rollable and appropriate for mountain bikers of nearly any skill level.

Located in an agrarian setting, the natural beauty is amplified by the iconic 1900-era barn which houses the trail’s namesake buzzard. Old Buzzard has already developed a powerful social media following and will certainly draw riders from surrounding states.

Come ride it for yourself during a grand opening celebration on Saturday, May 11 at 10 a.m. The event is free. (Get directions.)
