BROC June Social at Longdale Furnace

Date: June 15, 2019

Time: 11:00 am - 07:00 pm

Location: Longdale Furnace/North Mountain Trail

Join fellow BROC members to do a 12 mile mountain bike ride with 2,300 feet of elevation at Longdale Furnace! This ride will meet at the National Forest trailhead on Collierstown Road off of exit 35 on Interstate 64. From there, we will ride as a group up the gravel road climb to the singletrack across the ridge of North Mountain to a sweet downhill. There are several spots we will stop and take in amazing views of the surrounding mountains and valleys and there are 2-3 spots that are short but hike a bike. This ride is similar in difficulty to some of the upper trails at Carvins Cove mixed with some of the mid mountain trails. Expect to be on a bike for 2.5-3 hours but not moving at a challenging pace. After the ride, we will head over to Jack Mason’s Tavern in Clifton Forge where we have the back room reserved to enjoy beer, food and fun! Those wanting to ride, please plan to be at the trailhead ready to ride at 11:00am. Those wanting to just be social, plan to be at Jack Mason’s Tavern around 2:30pm. Yay bikes!
