Runners are eager to find out which of their favorite events will be hosted in-person this year and we have good news: The Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon is committed to hosting an in-person race on April 17, 2021.

Event staff has been working closely with top medical advisors in the Roanoke Region to prepare for a safe event (more details coming soon). Safety protocols may include staggered start times, distanced corrals, and masking at starting line and aid stations. All of the latest information on COVID-related race modifications and updates will be posted here.

For runners who prefer not to travel, the Blue Ridge Marathon will offer virtual race options. These unique virtual challenges will require participants to tackle tough elevation gains as would be expected for America’s Toughest.

IRL race options include the following:

  • Notorious double marathon (sells out each year)
  • Signature Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon
  • Half marathon
  • Anthem Star 10k
  • Freedom First Marathon Relay
  • Carilion Children’s Family 1 Miler

In 2019, the Sunday Slow-K dubbed “America’s Slowest 5k” was added as a recovery and camaraderie event to socialize with race friends. (Stay tuned for 2021 information!)
