Bike Share With Me

I want to share a bike with you.

RIDE Solutions is working to bring bike sharing to the Roanoke Region. The program would be a lot like what you see in some larger metro areas such as Washington, D.C. or New York City, where you can get short-term bike rentals from check out stations. You can grab a bike in one location, run errands or just cruise town and then check it back in at any other station. (It’s great for commuters, or shopping or dining trips.)

Bringing bike sharing to the region will make it easier for people to choose to ride a bike for transportation and explore our greenway network, great neighborhoods, and dynamic urban centers. Essentially, through bike share, we hope to enable more bicycle transportation by making short trips by bike that will help reduce congestion, improve road safety, improve air quality, provide access to healthy activity, all while promoting Roanoke as a great place to be outdoors and support economic development efforts.

But there’s a catch – did you see that coming? RIDE Solutions needs to know how you might use bike share, where you would want to go, and what you’d be willing to pay for the service.
