Take Part in a Challenging Century Ride, or Cheer Cyclists On

century bike ride roanoke

100 miles on a bicycle.

Cyclists from all around will come together on June 26 to celebrate the life of Blue Ridge Bicycle Club founder Artie Levin for the annual ride.

The Artie Levin Memorial Century will start at Green Hill Park in Roanoke County and wind for 100 miles through neighboring Montgomery County (50 and 15 mile options are also available). Riders will encounter six rated climbs, and approximately 6,000 feet of elevation gain along the way.

Riders will see the highest elevation at about the halfway mark as they climb Old Catawba Mountain Road with an elevation of 2,000 feet above sea level. The full century features a few of the favorite routes of area cyclists, such as Bradshaw Road.

The 50- and 15-mile routes will start on the same road as the century route and diverge along the way.

If biking 100 miles isn’t exactly your thing, bring a chair and find a spot along the way or hang out at Green Hill Park to cheer on riders.
