Camping at the Roanoke Mountain Campground is CLOSED indefinitely due to National Park Service budget cutbacks. The trails surrounding the campground are open though.

The great thing about the Roanoke Mountain Campground is that it provides great access to the Chestnut Ridge Trail, the trails at Explore Park, the Star Trail, and Mill Mountain Park trails.  You can even stop by the Mill Mountain Zoo.

**Every Sunday (end of May - end of August) bring your lawn chair and enjoy an hour of local music (7-8pm). With a differnt group performing each week, there will be a variety of old-time, bluegrass, country ballads, Celtic and more throughout the season.  All performances are free of charge.  Picnic fair is permitted, but alcohol is not.
