Ride 100 Miles (or Less) for a Good Cause
The Star City Gran Fondo presented by Business Solutions, Inc. is back for a second year on Saturday, Aug. 19.
The event features three different ride distances. The 100 mile gran fondo route features the beautiful, but challenging roads of Roanoke and Franklin County. Three significant climbs punctuate the route including the ascent of Mill Mountain in the final 10 miles of the ride. Not up for 100 miles? There are 71- and 21-mile routes.
In true gran fondo style there is chip timing for all riders with prizes for top finishers on the 100 mile route. Everyone will have a delicious burger from the Fast Burger food truck and cold beverage waiting at the finish line.
Proceeds of the event directly benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Virginia and Family Services of Roanoke Valley.
