Pete’s Pick: #OptOutside on Black Friday

I’m choosing to opt outside on Black Friday. No, I don’t have anything against holiday shopping (save those dollars for Small Business Saturday and shop local on Nov. 26).

A year ago our friends REI did something different on Black Friday — they shut the co-op’s doors and spent the day outside. This year they’re closing again and Roanoke Outside decided to #OptOutside with them. Join us and bring your friends.

There are so many ways to enjoy the day. You are in the middle of one of the greatest locations on the East Coast for hiking, biking, and paddling.
