New Group Brings Slacklining to Public Spaces Around Region

You’ve seen people slacking at events such as GO Fest and in area parks, and now a new group is trying to make slacklining more accessible for more people.

Roanoke Slackline has a mission to share the joy of slacklining in public spaces.

The group is based on a set of simple ideas:

  • Community
  • Movement
  • Balance
  • Nature
  • Time spent outside

There’s no formal process to become part of the slacklining group. Gatherings and information are posted in a Facebook group for members. Here’s what the page has to say: “Please join us in sharing time on the slackline in public space in and around the Roanoke Valley. People of all ages, and walks of life are welcome.”

Plus, current members already have a few slacklines that everyone can use, so don’t worry about having to bring one if you don’t have one. All levels are welcome. Come learn, come teach, come slack!
