Make Weekend Plans for Radical Reels on Sunday

The fall film festival you have been waiting for is Sunday at the Jefferson Center.

The Radical Reels Film Festival and Get Outside Expo is packed with adventure on the big screen, plus a glimpse into outdoor groups and organizations that you can be a part of.

Bike tough trails, paddle wild waters, and ski steep slopes. The Radical Reels Tour runs every spring and winter spanning North America bringing a variety of mountain sport films to a wide range of viewers from hard-core outdoor adventurers to weekend warriors. (Sunday’s stop is the only one in this part of the state.)

Grab your seats and hang on for the world’s best action films on skiing, boarding, climbing, biking, kayaking and more.

The action gets underway Sunday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. with the Get Outside Expo which features local outfitters, stores, nonprofits, and volunteer groups. Come and mingle.

The films start at 6 p.m.

Admission is a $5 donation to the Roanoke Outside Foundation and comes with a raffle ticket. Each additional $5 gets you three more raffle tickets. Raffle prizes include gifts cards to Walkabout Outfitter, Sweet Donkey Coffee, Outdoor Trails, Fleet Feet Sports, Roanoke Mountain Adventures, River and Rail, or Martin’s Downtown; entry to the Superhero race; or tickets to other Jefferson Center events. (Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.)
