Learn to Fly Fish

Take a class that will last for multiple summers of enjoyment. Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism is offering fly fishing classes, starting this weekend.

The interactive course will provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to fly fish on your own.  Topics covered include casting techniques, fly and equipment overviews, and safety considerations. Bring your fishing license and drop a line on the Roanoke River following the course. And don’t worry if you’ve never tossed a line before; no experience is necessary.

The class is Saturday, July 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Green Hill Park. It is open to all ages.
