Kayak the New River

Roanoke County Parks, Recreation & Tourism is hosting a group paddle on the New River on Sunday, July 30.

Whether you’re a beginner or have paddled before, everyone will enjoy this fun and exhilarating day of kayaking. You’ll get hands-on instruction to maximize the rewarding feeling of paddling the class I and II, 7 mile stretch with trained guides.

We’ll take breaks and have lunch along the way. No experience necessary. Must be able to swim and capable of prolonged physical activity. Please bring a lunch and water. Transportation, guides, and all equipment included. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

The tour will leave from Green Ridge on Sunday morning at 9 and return about 5 p.m.
