Located in Salem, this simple, historical trail offers a touch of local and national history, as well as a pleasant place to walk off lunch. Many lovely wildflowers grow along the trail.
Ideal for:
- walkers
- family bike rides
- birders
- a quiet stroll
- Civil War historians
- Take exit 141 off I-81S and turn left onto Rt. 419 or take exit 140 off I-81N and turn right onto Rt. 419
- Continue for less than 1/4 mile and turn right onto Dutch Oven Rd.
- Parking lot is immediately on left
A simple cinder trail, winds along the edges of Mason Creek. This rails to trails form allows for quiet solitude from the traffic. Many walkers here in the afternoons. Look for falling rock, historical markers and many wildflowers and wild berries.

- The trail will have you "hungry" for more local history? Check out the Salem History Museum, home of the Salem Historical Society. This group presents Salem's past and encourages its members to share their stories and artifacts. New additions being added daily.
