Great American Family Campout is Ideal for Beginners

Make memories with your kids that will last a lifetime this weekend during The Great American Campout. The annual event is a great beginner camping trip to help you and your kids have an enjoyable experience and build a foundation for a life long love of camping. The camping adventure is in a park so you are free from wildlife and have easy access to facilities.

What’s especially nice about the campout on June 25-26 at Wasena Park is that you can borrow all the gear you need to “test drive” the camping experience without the commitment of buying equipment. Plus, Walkabout Outfitter will be on-site with a “camp store” for all your last-minute needs.

There will be plenty of activities for campers as well with games, family activities, and a campfire. It’s just $25 for the whole family – less than a dinner out – and includes a campfire with hot dogs and smores and coupons for gear and rentals from Underdog Bikes and Roanoke Mountain Adventures.
