Get Ready to Gallop 4 the Greenways

Gallop 4 the Greenways is back and longer than ever this year.

Yes … longer.

Thanks to your feedback the race is growing from 4 to 5 miles this year. (There are also 5K, group walk, and kids fun run options.)

The race and kids fun run on May 14 is an annual fundraiser to support the growing network of pedestrian and bike trails throughout the region. The course is along the Roanoke River Greenway – naturally – and will start and finish near River’s Edge. The start time is 5 p.m. and will conclude with a post-race party featuring live music, great food, and plenty of adult and kid-friendly beverages.

Proceeds from the event go to Pathfinders for Greenways, a non-profit organization dedicated to building and maintaining area trails.

Race registration is open and awards will go to the top three in each age group.
