Mill Mountain Wildflower Garden is a two and one-half acre wildflower garden atop Mill Mountain that is maintained by the Mill Mountain Garden Club. The garden is a living connection between the Mill Mountain Discovery Center and the Mill Mountain Zoo.

Community Arboretum is a two-acre educational garden located on the campus of Virginia Western Community College in Roanoke, Virginia. Hahn Horticulture Garden at Virginia Tech is nearly six acres of teaching and display gardens located on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. Splash Valley Water Park
The Greenridge Recreation Center's Splash Valley Water Park is a 20,000 square foot
indoor/outdoor aquatic facility unlike anything else in the Roanoke Valley!  The aquatics facility will feature water slides, a current river, hot tubs, a children's spray area, concessions, shaded areas, and a zero-entry leisure pool. In addition there is a gymnasium and workout center.
