A new device combines both security and a GPS in the event your bike is stolen.
According to the National Bike Registry, the estimated cost of bikes being stolen each year in the U.S. alone is around $200 million. A lock reduces the chance of theft, but it doesn’t fully protect the bike against professional thieves. This is where the SpyBike Covert Bicycle GPS Tracker comes in to give bike owners a complete piece of mind.
The SpyBike set comes with a small GPS tracker that can be discreetly mounted on a bike. This is accompanied by an electronic keyring that can deactivate the tracker. When the tracker is still activated, it can detect vibrations such as movements. As long as the tracker detects vibrations, the system will then send an SMS alert to the user with the location coordinates every 20 seconds.
The SpyBike system costs around $150.
