Fun with the Kids: Balance Bike Bonanza

balance bikeStudies have shown introducing children to cycling at an early age helps with gross and fine motor skills development as well as speech, behavioral and social skills development. But really it’s just about having fun!

Join Franklin County Parks and Recreation at three different locations for a safe, fun and warm learning environment for your child to give a balance bike a try. This event is for kids who can walk up to 5 years old.

Balance Bike Bonanzas are Feb. 3 at the Essig Center, Feb. 10 at Rocky Mount Library and Feb. 17 at Westlake Library. Each session is from 10 a.m. to noon.

What’s a balance bike? A balance bicycle, or run bike, helps children learn balance and steering. It looks like a bike, but has no pedals and no drivetrain.

Bring your own or try out a demo bike. Advance registration is required to qualify for a FREE BALANCE BIKE ($100 value). Call Matt at 540-483-9293 to register.
