Film Festival and Outdoor Expo is a Few Days Away

The most adventurous film festival of the year is coming to Roanoke on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour has been providing outdoorsy folk from around the world with mountain culture for over 40 years. The films shown as part of the traveling world tour are inspiring, adventurous, and thought-provoking, created for like-minded audiences in cities, mountain towns (like Roanoke), and villages in over 40 countries.

The Roanoke Outside Foundation is excited to host the first showing of the “World Tour” set of films at the Jefferson Center. In years past we’ve only shown the high adventure films (Radical Reels) but this year you’ll get to see the high adventure films, plus the broader films that include stories of adventure, discovery, and exploration in the outdoors.

The event kicks of a 5 p.m. with the Get Outside Expo in Fitzpatrick Hall and will be followed by the films at 7 p.m. in Shaftman Hall. A $5 donation at the door gets you in to see the films and comes with a raffle ticket for cool prizes; each additional $5 donation gets you three more raffle tickets.
