Fall Colors Are Starting to Show

This is the first week there’s been a real chill in the air, meaning that fall – and fall colors – are just around the corner.

A guided nature walk is the perfect fit for more brisk days and provides a great opportunity to see all the color.

Roanoke County Parks and Recreation is hosting a Fall Colors Walk on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Explore Park.

Join a naturalist for the family-friendly one mile guided nature walk where exciting seasonal changes will be discussed and many beautiful colors will be enjoyed. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and clothing and bring a water bottle.

You do need to register in advance. The hike is open to anyone ages 3 and up.

Can’t make it this week? You’re in luck. There’s another Fall Colors Walk on Oct. 28. (Register online.)
