Disco Mountain Bike Race is Groovy Fun

Disco is back… for one final dance.

The Roanoke Parks and Recreation Wednesday Night Disco Race is an award-winning mountain bike race series that will make you want to dance on your pedals! And this is your LAST CHANCE TO DANCE! After 10 years of jiving and riding, the Disco Series is packing up its polyester, jumping into its Datsun, and riding off into the sunset.

Riders boogie on down the mountain to the start at the Riverland Road Parking Lot and race the trails back up again to finish at the Mill Mountain Discovery Center. The Wednesday Night Disco Mountain Bike Race Series is novice rider-friendly while providing a weeknight training ground for more experienced mountain bikers. Invite family and friends to cheer you on and enjoy bluegrass music as well as a food truck during and after the race.

Racing begins with registration at the Discovery Center in Mill Mountain Park. Parking is available at the Discovery Center and beside the Roanoke Star. Registration opens at 4:30 p.m. and closes at the Discovery Center at 5:45 p.m. and races start promptly at 6 p.m. The series begins May 3 and continues May 10 and May 17. Riders can participate in individual races or the entire series.

The series is open to riders both young and “experienced,” and helmets are required for all riders. Prizes go to the top three racers in each category.
