Fungi and Wildflowers - Blue Ridge Wildflower Society Field Trip

Andy Layne Trail to Tinker Cliffs Hike with RATC

Time: 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM Location: Roanoke Located in Botetourt County, the trailhead for this hike is on Route 779 roughly halfway between Catawba and Daleville. In 2001, this trail was dedicated to Andy Layne – a prominent member of RATC who passed away in 1991. The hike crosses meadows and Catawba Creek and then starts the ascent to Scorched Earth Gap where it continues on the AT to Tinker Cliffs. Race Trail Prep for The Great Escape

Now, after a 7 year sabbatical, Virginia's oldest, fiercest big mountain national forest race is back on the mighty Potts! This event revives the 1993-94 course layout with an out n' back on the ridge trail, which means the addition of a nice 4 mile climb. It also revives the 1988 tradition of one course for all! 26 miles and the truth and glory. 5000' of climbing and all those wonderful blue limestone rocks that made Potts Mountain famous. Salt Log Gap to Sheeley/Woodworth Shelter via Livingston Spring Trail Hike

Time: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Location: Roanoke This is a lozenge shaped lollypop hike. Only one steep section with many level stretches and moderate ups and downs. Most of hike is wooded with glimpses of the next ridgeline through the trees. There is an outstanding scenic view from the top of an unnamed hill on the trail. Gauley Fest

15'th Annual Marine Mud Run

Big Lick Triathlon
