Beer-Loving Volunteers Needed

It’s the event you’ve been waiting for since the big announcement in March. Deschutes Brewery is bringing its Street Pub to Roanoke on Aug. 27.

And we need your help to put on this gigantic event. We are looking for volunteers to do everything from serve beer to help with clean-up after the event. (And shifts come with some pretty cool swag.)

The Street Pub is more than a giant travelling craft beer party, it’s also an engine that supports nonprofits in the community. Roanoke Outside is fortunate enough to be one of those organizations. (Other beneficiaries include Blue Ridge Land Conservancy and Feeding America Southwest Virginia as primary partners, and Pathfinders for Greenways; Clean Valley Council; Family Promise of Greater Roanoke; Roanoke IMBA; LEAP for Local Food; and Bradley Free Clinic of Roanoke Valley as secondary nonprofit partners.)

Here’s what Deschutes had to say: “In each city where Street Pub sets up shop, we typically select one or two nonprofits with which to partner. (Last year, we raised almost $400,000 in six stops.) In Roanoke, we are taking a slightly different approach, and are working with a wide range of nonprofits. Why? Well, we think a well-rounded giving program for our east coast community is important, just like we do it here in our backyard. We have a couple of different charitable giving programs and support many different organizations that fall within our giving guidelines. We look forward to eventually having this same model once we are brewing and shipping out beer from our Roanoke facility.”

So sign up for a shift and be a part of the biggest welcoming committee Roanoke has to offer as Deschutes brings the Street Pub to town.
