Bill Bryson is a New York Times bestselling author and “A Walk in the Woods” was listed by TIME magazine as one of its “All-TIME 100 Best Nonfiction Books.”

The talk is free, but you have to have a ticket to get in to the March 3 event. Ticket “sales” begin Feb. 1 at 9 a.m. and seating is limited. Tickets are available online.

Bryson is also the author of “A Short History of Nearly Everything.” The event is part of the Hollins Distinguished Speakers Fund.

If you haven’t read the book yet, “A Walk in the Woods” is a fun read. It details the hike along the Appalachian Trail — and parts of this region — as Bryson and a friend take on the journey.
