3, 2, 1 … GO Fest

The countdown is on to the most awesome outdoor festival on the East Coast.

The Anthem Roanoke GO Outside Festival is Oct. 14-16 at River’s Edge. While there are plenty of new things happening, all the great activities and demos you love will be there. And best of all, admission to the festival is free. (So is parking!)

What’s new?

  • The Cast Iron & Craft Beer Dinner prepared by Chef Aaron Deal of River and Rail Restaurant with five rare beet tastings from Deschutes Brewery underneath a giant Barebones tent. (This VIP option requires advance tickets and is likely to sell out.)
  • GO Fest is partnering with the founders of Floyd Fest to take the music experience to the next level. (Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe is headlining Saturday night.)
  • The Star City Gran Fondo bike ride features 28-, 66-, and 100-mile options. So bring your bike for this awesome ride!
  • GO RVing Camping Zone makes it easy for anyone to stay all weekend.
  • Join the silent disco dance party and bust a move with a crowd, sans loud music. The tunes will only flow through headphones given to each participant. All the equipment you need is provided, just come ready to have a good time.
  • The Carilion Children’s Strider Bike Race will features tots on no-pedal balance bikes. The event is sure to be full of cuteness with kids ages 2 to 5 taking part in a little friendly competition.

What do you need to do?

  • Mark your calendars for Oct. 14-16 (come and go as you please or make plans to camp all weekend).
  • Download the GO Fest Guidebook app. It’s packed with parking info, schedules (you can flag all the events you don’t want to miss), vendor maps, and you can upload photos.
  • Hop in the car and make a weekend of it. See you there!
